Details Work in a high-volume post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit caring for urology and GYN surgical populations Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30) Typical patient ratio of 1:7 Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage within the contract required Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active VA or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, no exceptions BLS certification through the American Heart Association required ACLS certification preferred Minimum of two years recent relevant Med/Surg Tele experience required One year of 1:7 patient ratio experience Epic charting system proficiency required Previous charge experience preferred Community hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team activation Proficient in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, and tracheostomy care Experience with surgical drains and renal failure patient care Additional Information Candidates must pass a telemetry EKG proficiency test with a minimum score of 80%, with no remediation offered if failed Three hours of pre-start modules required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered A driver's license must be provided for address verification prior to offer acceptance Facility will not consider candidates with any prior license or background hits Facility cannot accommodate PAPR fit testing accommodations Requested time off must be submitted for review and approval on a per-case basis First-time travelers are not required for this position American Traveler Job ID P-764518.
