This is a contract-based role with the possibility of remote (VOCO) work, offering significant flexibility and the chance to shape your own work schedule.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active Virginia Department of Education Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably across a range of ages (PreK-12)
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varying levels of need—from consultative support to direct, intensive services
• Willingness to work district-wide, with caseload details and assigned campuses to follow
• Commitment to starting the Virginia Department of Social Services check and TB Test promptly as part of the onboarding process

• Provide consultative and direct services to a growing population of students requiring vision services
• Enjoy district-wide flexibility as you organize your own schedule (0.5 FTE to start, with the possibility to move to full-time)
• Serve an age-diverse caseload, adapting strategies to each student’s individualized education plan
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote student success and inclusivity
• Take advantage of the district’s openness to VOCO (virtual/remote) arrangements if preferred
