Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial interviews to understand client history, concerns, and treatment needs.

  • Develop personalized treatment and recovery plans, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to individual, couples, family, and group therapy needs.

  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.

  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment protocols as necessary, ensuring alignment with established goals and therapeutic outcomes.

  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare providers such as psychiatrists and social workers, to deliver comprehensive care.

  • Identify behavioral patterns that hinder recovery and proactively address them through targeted interventions and education.

  • Offer support to family members and caregivers in managing mental health challenges while fostering a supportive network for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will engage with a diverse clientele, ranging from children and adolescents to adults and families with varying mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse disorders. Our focus is on fostering resilience and recovery through tailored therapeutic approaches. As a counselor in this role, empathy and understanding will be critical to building trust, which is essential for effective treatment delivery.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with experience in platforms such as AVATAR being an asset.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, essential for documentation and client interaction.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Prior experience as a licensed mental health counselor is highly desirable, showcasing a strong foundation in client care and therapeutic intervention.

  • Knowledge and experience in addressing concurrent physical health conditions and addiction disorders.

  • Familiarity with the best practices of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and knowledge of psychotropic medications prescribed by healthcare specialists.
