Key Position Details: 1.0 FTE Orthopedic Physician Assistant for United and East region 100%, St. Paul and Apple Valley clinic locations 2-3 clinic days a week, 1-2 OR days a week 5x8 hour day shifts You will be in the call rotation – 3-4 weekends a year Float among 3 MD teams Weekend rotations - on call Clinic schedule: 8am-430pm Surgery schedule: Normally 7am start time; mid-afternoon end time depending on case load. Job Description: Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team. Principle Responsibilities

Provides clinical care for patients

Completes comprehensive patient assessments. Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. Refers for specialty care when determined. Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear

Required Qualifications Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program

Preferred Qualifications New Graduates may be considered. Minimum 2 years' experience in Orthopedics preferred

Licenses/Certifications Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire BLS Tier 1 - Multisource required within 180 Days Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

Physical Demands Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $126,006 to $144,206 per yearThe pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
