Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides care for patients of all ages, ranging from neonates to geriatrics, in a high-acuity, busy Level III trauma center. The role requires handling various emergencies and patient types, including trauma, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder cases.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications using barcode scanning technology.
• Manage medication drips and blood product administration.
• Triage patients and perform critical assessments.
• Set up and maintain chest tubes, arterial lines, and assist with trauma and code cases.
• Perform splinting and manage bipap/vents.
• Apply knowledge of emergency severity index and pediatric emergency medicine.
• Handle Point of Care Labs and participate in patient stabilization and transfer.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a large volume ED with high acuity patients.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and ability to pass a hospital Triage Test.
