Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the home health nursing team, ensuring optimal patient care and staff performance
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs
• Oversee clinical documentation, medical records, and electronic health record (EHR) systems such Wellsky Kinnser to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations
• Manage case management activities including discharge planning, utilization review, and coordination of services for patients with complex needs such as dementia care, behavioral health issues, or long-term disabilities
• Ensure adherence to nursing policies, infection control protocols, medication administration standards, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, tube feeding management, and sterile techniques
• Provide training and supervision for nursing staff on topics like medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical documentation, basic life support (BLS), venipuncture, phlebotomy, and other clinical skills
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by monitoring patient outcomes related to acute pain management, ventilator use, wound suturing, or specialized care such as neonatal ventilator management or spinal tap procedures

Requirements

• Valid TX RN license
• Proven supervisory experience within home health or similar healthcare settings
• Critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center background highly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices along with familiarity with hospital medicine and emergency medicine protocols
• Hands-on experience with Wellsky Kinnser EHR proficiency in ICD-9/10 coding and utilization review processes
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and long-term care regulations governing home health agency
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments involving vital signs, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation techniques and physiology knowledge
• Excellent managerial communication skills to lead teams effectively while managing patient care plans and ensuring compliance with Delight Care's policies
• Knowledge of specialized areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal), developmental disabilities support, or dementia/memory care is advantageous
• Certification in basic life support (BLS), IV insertion/injection administration, catheterization techniques and infection control practices required
• Assist the administrator with other duties as desired.
