Patient Care Tech intern- Infants Med Surg (Night 36)

Requisition #: 668803 Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21287 Category: Nursing Support/Patient Care Schedule: Night Shift Employment Type: Part‑time Unit Overview Bloomberg 9 South, Infant and Toddler Care is a 20‑bed intermediate care unit caring for medical/surgical patients aged 0‑4 years, including trached/vented patients up to age 9. The unit specializes in cardiac/cardiac surgery and urological surgery patients, with additional services in GI, Pulmonary, Renal, general pediatric, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastic and General Pediatric Surgery. Patients are cared for by an interdisciplinary team of nurses, physicians, social workers, case managers, child life specialists and other ancillary staff. Responsibilities The Clinical Tech Intern works under the supervision of a nurse. Working with consideration of the patient’s developmental needs, the intern performs routine patient activities and delegated patient‑care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates. The intern supports the nursing staff with patient care activities and related services focused on the needs and comfort of patients. The intern remains in the intern role for no longer than one year; upon meeting training requirements the intern advances to PCT I. For more details, visit Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland required. Basic clinical skills to support nursing personnel with patient care activities. BLS CPR certification required (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted).
