Corporate Insurance Program Coordinator

Execute corporate policy for insurance and risk retention programs and represent corporate interests. Administer corporate risk related to loss of assets or claims against the corporation through the administration of third-party and self-insurance programs. Assist in providing risk management consulting expertise to the company and continuously focus on cost effective avenues to decrease insurance and risk management related expenses. Interface with corporate personnel, insurance brokers and insurer staff regarding insurance programs.

This is a multiple-location posting. The selected candidate may be based out of our Exelon Corporate Office locations in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, PA, Kennett Square, PA, Baltimore, MD, Owings Mills, MD, Chicago, IL, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, Newark, DE, Carneys Point, NJ.

Primary Duties

• Assist in the coordination of the corporate insurance program and the management of risks through the administration of third party and self-insured programs.
• Identify and evaluate corporate risk exposures. Make recommendations to Insurance Department Leadership for addressing these exposures.
• Coordinate specific corporate insurance programs and represent corporate interests with brokers and insurers.
• Support the negotiation of specific insurance coverages, review insurance contracts, administer insurance policies, and ensure compliance with governmental regulations.

Job Scope

• Perform analytical and administrative tasks necessary to support the management of specific lines of insurance coverage.
• Assist the Insurance Department Leadership to efficiently insure Exelon's transmission and distribution assets through best practice risk management techniques.
• Maintain strong working relationships with insurance brokers and insurers.
• Act as liaison between various internal and external parties. Serve as consultant to internal organizations on risk management issues.
• Support the administration of the corporate insurance program, review insurance policies and coordinate the payment of invoices and broker services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in risk management & insurance, accounting, finance, engineering or related degree.
• Completion of insurance related professional designation: Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred (unless applicant possesses a risk management & insurance undergraduate degree).
• 5 or more years experience in insurance or risk management desired.
• Demonstrated analytical and evaluation skills.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and insurance markets
• Ability to analyze insurance decisions and their impact on Exelon and its subsidiaries
