Summary:

Responsible for operating the IMAX Dome Theatre projection and sound systems, and ancillary equipment as well as audio-visual components throughout the facility to ensure the highest possible presentation quality. Responsible for greeting groups and individuals, assisting visitors with special needs, and providing exemplary customer service for all visitors and teammates. Responsible for operating the concession stand. Nights and weekends required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

IMAX Host- Greets all guests and directs loading and unloading of Theater Responsible for system startup as well as system shutdown Loads and unloads shows into the system for daily operations Interacts with visitors and answers visitor's questions Monitors and controls crowds as they prepare for theater entry Maintains appearance of IMAX spaces: Adjusts stanchions, keeps theatre spaces tidy, organized and safe Assists visitors with special needs Seats audience safely and efficiently Acts as an ambassador throughout the museum Assists in emergency evacuations of theatre Maintains accurate records Works with theater volunteers Stands and greets visitors at the third-level entrance

Operates Theater & AV - Sound, Automation System, Ancillary Equipment and other Audio-Visual Equipment Delivers speeches over a personal announcement system in a clear professional manner Operates theatre console, sound, automation, and ancillary equipment according to established procedures and practices Monitors the picture, lighting, sound, and environmental comfort to ensure the highest possible presentation quality and informs projection staff of any presentation deficiencies Follows procedures for timing and queueing between projection room, operations/ticketing, and hosting staff to ensure continuity, quality, and timeliness of theater presentations Monitors and controls crowds inside the theater Set up, breakdown, and maintenance of AV equipment for events Monitors, sets and adjusts museum-wide music system as needed for operations and events Operation, set-up, and breakdown of Discovery Theater AV equipment

Maintains Appearance Theater, Concession Stand, and Surrounding areas Checks theater for lost articles between shows Help maintain cleanliness inside the theater, at concessions, and surrounding areas between shows Maintains a secure workplace by communicating with teammates, supervisors, and/or MOD on any issues Inspect theater seats for proper operation and fix them when necessary

Operation of Concession Stand

Following opening and closing procedures for the Concession Stand: set-up, stocking, preparing popcorn, cleaning Adhering to all safety, food handling, and cleaning procedures Operation of retail software and cash handling Product inventory: counting products, recording damaged or expired items, and communicating to MOD or Supervisor Exemplary customer service

Education/Experience: High School diploma/GED or in progress of completion required Fluency in Spanish preferred

Highly Occupied Space Must be able to work in extremely crowded spaces with a large number of people.
