Land Development Civil Engineer - Site Design & AutoCAD

Job Summary We are hiring a Land Development Engineer with strong civil/site engineering and AutoCAD-based drafting experience focused on land development projects. This onsite role supports survey and construction teams in delivering accurate, construction-ready engineering drawings for raw land conversion into buildable sites, including grading, drainage, utilities, and road layouts. This position requires hands‑on involvement in both design and field coordination, including construction layout support and survey collaboration. Key Responsibilities Develop and produce civil engineering drawings for land development projects Design site plans including grading, stormwater drainage, utilities, and roadway layouts Prepare accurate, construction-ready plan sets for field implementation Support surveyors with construction layout, stakeout coordination, and field verification Provide engineering input during construction to resolve site and design issues Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and field personnel throughout project lifecycle Ensure compliance with applicable design standards and project specifications Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in land development / site civil engineering Proven hands‑on experience producing land development construction drawings Strong background in grading, drainage, utility design, road design, and site layout Direct experience supporting survey crews and construction layout activities Ability to deliver complete, construction‑ready engineering drawing sets Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent civil engineering CAD workflows (hands‑on drafting required) Preferred Experience Background in civil engineering consulting, land development firms, municipal engineering, or surveying support Experience working across full project lifecycle: design through construction support Exposure to multiple completed land development or site development projects Work Location & Environment Fully onsite role in Lake Hopatcong, NJ (07849) Close collaboration with surveyors, field crews, and construction teams Ideal commute radius: 30–45 minutes (Dover, Denville, Parsippany, Roxbury, Rockaway, Mount Arlington, Hopatcong, Jefferson Township, and nearby Morris County areas) NJ Transit access available via nearby rail lines (Morristown / Montclair-Boonton line) Relocation not provided; local or self‑relocating candidates only #J-18808-Ljbffr BlackStar
