Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).**Pay Range:**$55.62 - $78.61**Scheduled Weekly Hours:**40**Position Overview****Certified Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner with OB/GYN Experience Opportunity*** Seeking a full-time CNM or NP with OB/GYN experience as part of the OB Triage team* Evaluates patients referred to OB triage from the ED and on call service* Works as multidisciplinary team member within the OBGYN department, consults with other members of the team to coordinate care as needed* Hopewell Hospital-based positon with variable in-house shift support – 24/7 Operation* Strong mentorship for newer midwives and nurse practitioners* Strong midwifery presence with 30+ year history in the hospital* CNM first assist training & support for Obstetric care privileges and continuity* Excellent benefits **Community**Located in central NJ, and commutable from Philadelphia. offering superb quality of life, excellent schools, universities and affordable living* Many cultural amenities, restaurants, and activities for children and adult* Year-round outdoor activities and one hour to the Jersey shore* Located within driving distance of New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Baltimore**Responsibilities*** Evaluates need for and ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests. Reviews and accurately records laboratory results in prenatal record. Reviews and interprets laboratory results with client. Refers abnormal results to case manager for follow-up.* Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers.* Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare related decisions.* Participates in constant labor and delivery coverage for caseload. Exercises discretion and judgment when evaluating and determining disposition of clients in triage area appropriately.* Collaborates, consults, and refers with physicians in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-midwifery regulations. Acts as stand-by for unattended private deliveries when physician is unavailable. Acts as Cesarean section first assist for clients and private physicians as needed.* Completes post-partum rounds and discharges in a timely fashion. Completes billing slip at time of discharge.* Participates in multi-disciplinary conference. Attends at least 50% of Obstetrics Department meetings annually. Maintains contact with professional organizations.* Participates in performance improvement activities.* Participates in continuing education activities and obtains CEUs necessary to maintain state licensure and prescriptive authority.* Supervises Nurse-Mid-wifery students and family practice residents during their clinical rotation at CH.* Adapts to changing demands of workplace and assumes a leadership role in supporting co-workers adaptation to change.**Requirements*** Graduate of an accredited midwifery program with Certificate of nurse-midwifery.* Successful completion of integration experience in an accredited midwifery program.* American Heart Association BLS* NJ Nurse Midwife* Frequent physical demands include: Standing , Walking , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Wrist position deviation* Occasional physical demands include: Sitting , Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Carry objects , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion , Taste or Smell* Continuous physical demands include: Talk or Hear* Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs.
