The Host/Hostess welcomes all guests entering and leaving the Clubhouse with a warm greeting or farewell. This person will establish the friendliness and excellent high standard that Trump National Golf Club represents. This person will be will possess high energy and a positive demeanor.

Essential Duties:

• Answer telephone calls made to the facility with a positive, friendly, and sincere demeanor.
• Welcome each guest that enters the facility by saying "Welcome to Trump National Golf Club"
• A farewell greet to all guests upon their departure from the Clubhouse.
• Use the Open Table reservation system for guest reservations.
• Manage all reservations for the benefit of smooth guest flow for the servers to give excellent guest service including ensuring the tables are ready and set for reservations.
• Seat guests according to their preference (i.e., Golfer's Lounge, Golfer's Lounge patio, or Cafe Pacific).
• Observe tables to monitor what tables need to be cleared for the next seating.
• Provide reservation counts to the kitchen so they will be prepared for the day’s business.
• Communicates guest positive and/or negative feedback to the Manager on duty.
• Inform guests of any promotions and/or specials of the day.
• Maintain the lobby area in a clean and organized fashion for the guest to see and enjoy including restocking and organizing all flyers and magazines in a presentable manner.
• Print all menus including special event menus as well as keep all menus clean and organized.
• Inform the Manager on duty of the “flow” of reservations and walk-ins as it builds and subsides.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety at all times.
• Complete all side work as directed.
• Familiarizes and Performs tasks on the morning and afternoon checklists, based on working shift.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience: Some high school/college education. High school diploma preferred; at least one (2) year of serving and/or food service experience in a banquet (or restaurant) environment, preferred.

Language Skills: Required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job

VII. Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills required.

VIII. Reasoning Ability: Problem solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box” will be a constant requirement; in addition, applying common sense understanding better serve our guests’ needs – both our internal and external guests.

IX. Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds and moves furniture on the restaurant floor.

X. Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

XI. Environment/Noise: Works in an indoor environment and may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally works in a warm environment being exposed to high heat and/or flames. Occasionally works in outdoors.

XII. Certificates/Licenses: California Food Handler Card

XIII. Skill and Ability Preferences

• Knowledge of Open Table Restaurant Management system a plus
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Effective communication and good organizational skills
• Sanitation and safety oriented

Must be able to work on site Friday, Saturday and Sunday ( Holidays and Special events ).

The property features walking trails that meander through the award-winning golf course towards the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The trails provide access to the beach and a public park located on the bluffs in front of the clubhouse. These trails offer the chance to see up close the native flora and fauna that our staff works so diligently to preserve.
