Pay : $20.00 per hour

Schedule : Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

A leading environmental and waste management company is seeking a dependable Environmental Technician I to join our team in Decatur, IL. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, offering a pathway to permanent employment for motivated individuals.

You'll work alongside experienced technicians to safely manage waste and recycling materials while supporting daily operations in an industrial environment.

What We Offer

Job Responsibilities

Move and organize various waste and recyclable materials.
Handle non-hazardous waste and limited quantities of hazardous waste, including scrap wood, cardboard, plastics, and paint line waste.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation for waste and recycling materials.
Follow all environmental, safety, and company procedures.
Work closely with supervisors and team members to complete daily assignments.
Keep work areas organized and clean.

Qualifications

Previous forklift experience is required.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds throughout the shift.
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Ability to work independently while following instructions.
Safety-minded with a strong attention to detail.
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.

Work Environment

This position is performed both indoors and outdoors and requires working in various weather conditions. Employees will receive two days of safety training before beginning field assignments.
