Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac PCU/Stepdown RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring active MI RN licensure and prior PCU or stepdown experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical Telemetry/Cardiac IMCU unit within a 225-bed Level 2 trauma hospital
• 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Cardiac and stepdown patient population including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call required only during low census periods
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Associate degree required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
• PCU/stepdown experience and low level ICU skills preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver cardiac and stepdown level nursing care within a collaborative, teamwork-focused unit
• Scrub colors must be blue or navy; blue jeans are not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked perm staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
