CDR General Services is seeking a skilled and dependable Class A Ship Welder to join our team near Paducah, Kentucky, with experience working in barge repair. The ideal candidate for this position will be a motivated individual with strong work ethics, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Job Location: Paducah, KY
• Pay Rate: $27 per hour
• Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality welding on structural steel and barge components
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, fitting, and positioning components
• Perform welding using approved processes (Flux Core, Stick/SMAW, MIG as required)
• Inspect welds to ensure strength, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Repair and fabricate barge structures including plates, frames, and bulkheads
• Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and cutting equipment safely
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals

Requirements

• Previous experience in barge repair or marine welding preferred
• Strong knowledge of structural welding processes (Flux Core and Stick required)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Skilled in the use of welding tools, grinders, and measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Reliable transportation required
• Strong commitment to safety, attendance, and productivity
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
