Technical Sales Representative — Surface & Metal Finishing Cephas Consultancy Services Private Limited CaliforniaRemote / Field-Based, California, United States About this position Remote / Field-Based) Salary : $ - $ Job Type: Full-Time | Experience: 3–5 years of outside sales | Work Model: Remote/Field-Based Position Overview: Our client is a privately owned global chemical distributor serving manufacturers with industrial, specialty, and performance chemicals. Grow and manage business in surface and metal finishing specialty chemicals. This hands‑on outside sales role focuses on developing business, growing accounts, and serving as a trusted technical resource. It is an individual contributor position, not a management role. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business through prospecting, referrals, and industry relationships; build a strong pipeline and strategic territory growth plans. Convert competitive accounts, meet individual sales and revenue targets, and manage and grow existing accounts through regular visits and strong customer relationships. Recommend chemical solutions, assist with product selection and applications, coordinate product trials, and support troubleshooting and process improvements. Serve customers in plating, anodizing, metal finishing, aerospace, automotive, electronics, and industrial OEM markets. Collaborate with leadership and purchasing, customer service, technical support, logistics, and manufacturing teams to support service and product availability. Manage regional travel, maintain CRM records and sales forecasts, prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and monitor competitors and industry trends. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of outside sales experience and established customer relationships. Strong communication and negotiation skills; technical aptitude. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Strong plus: experience selling metal finishing chemicals, experience in the surface or metal finishing industry, and an existing customer book in the industry. Preferred Bachelor's degree. Experience with aerospace, automotive, electronics, or industrial manufacturers; wastewater treatment; plating processes; or working for a chemical distributor.
