Job Description: Health Room Assistant (LPN)

Position Title: Health Room Assistant (LPN)

Location: Lacey WA

Contract Dates: September 3, 2026 - June 17, 2027

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:50 AM - 4:20 PM

Hours: 7.5-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch

License Requirement: Active Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License

Position Summary


The LPN supports the health and well-being of students in a busy school environment. This role is responsible for providing daily nursing support, managing student health needs, administering care within the scope of practice, and maintaining accurate health records. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, can effectively multitask, and works independently while maintaining a high standard of student care and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing support and basic medical care to students throughout the school day.
• Assess and respond appropriately to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, school policies, and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation.
• Monitor students with chronic health conditions and implement individualized health plans as directed.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers when necessary.
• Manage a high volume of student visits while prioritizing urgent health needs.
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
• Support emergency response procedures and provide first aid as needed.
• Maintain health room supplies and ensure a safe, organized working environment.
