Summary:
The Payroll Systems Administrator is a key position within Human Resources and reports directly to the HR Manager. Leads the development and implementation of strategies and services for all employee payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations. Oversees and maintains the optimal function of HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade of applications, systems, and modules.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education required to ensure success in this position:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, required.
- One to two years of related experience required.
- Experience with processing payroll in an ERP system or Experience with HRIS systems.
- Experience with Banner(ERP) and or higher education is a strong advantage.
- Ability to collaborate effectively

- Excellent oral/written communication and superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work collegially and
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to set priorities. Attention to detail.

- Experience in program planning, coordination, and evaluation.

- Strong time-management skills
- Knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Be willing to obtain Fundamental Payroll certification
- Valid driver's license
- Required background checks
- Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
- Ability to travel independently by car and/or plane
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit at a desk working on a computer for prolonged periods.
- Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff and faculty
- Occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, etc.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Records and audits- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- HRIS subject matter expert- Oversees and maintains the optimal function of the HRIS, which may
- Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Annual reporting and submissions- Submits all required payroll and HRIS reporting to government
- Subject Matter Expert support - Each member of the HR team will be expected to become a subject
- HR project team member- Each member of the HR team will be assigned to participate in team
- Performs other duties as assigned.
