Job Title: Utility Welder / Mechanic Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Utility Mechanic to support operations by maintaining, repairing, and fabricating a wide range of equipment and infrastructure. This position requires hands-on expertise in welding, generator and mechanical equipment repair, and facility installation tasks such as darkroom construction. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently on diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

This position requires hands-on expertise in welding, generator and mechanical equipment repair, and facility installation tasks such as darkroom construction. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently on diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on various equipment including generators, compressors, pumps, and specialty tools.
- Weld, fabricate, and modify metal structures, supports, brackets, and enclosures as needed.
- Install and maintain darkrooms and similar specialty spaces, including layout, framing, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Assist with general facility upkeep, including plumbing, lighting, and basic construction work.
- Respond to maintenance emergencies or urgent equipment failures.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding or mechanical repair is a plus.
- Proven experience in welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick) and general fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of small engine and generator maintenance and repair.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand or kneel for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces or elevated areas.
