Surface Prep Technician

PrideStaff is currently recruiting a dedicated Surface Prep Technician for a premier, fast-paced manufacturing facility in the area.

Position Overview: In this role, you will play a critical part in the finishing process, ensuring precision components are free of defects, properly deburred, and thoroughly prepped for the paint and coating stages. You will work closely with production team members to maintain high quality standards and keep daily manufacturing targets on track.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate grinding, deburring, and metal-finishing tools to smooth raw edges, welds, and surface imperfections.
• Inspect and prepare component surfaces according to quality standards to ensure optimal finish adhesion.
• Perform routine checks and light maintenance on finishing equipment and tools.
• Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to keep assembly lines moving efficiently.
• Stage finished materials and assist with general production tasks as needed.
• Follow all standard safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications:

• Previous machine operation, surface preparation, or metal finishing experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency using handheld power tools, including angle grinders, belt sanders, and pneumatic tools.
• Strong visual attention to detail with the ability to detect minor surface flaws or consistency issues.
• Capability to excel in a fast-paced environment while strictly adhering to safety standards.
• Dependable work ethic, strong communication skills, and a collaborative team attitude.
• Physical capability to stand for full shifts and safely lift up to 40 lbs.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.50 - $18.50
