Job Description Summary

With a $15,000 Sign on Bonus! The Multi-Modality Lead Tech reports to the manager of CT. They are responsible for assisting the CT Manager with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department. They will be responsible for monitoring the BBEMC radiology staff, prioritizing patient workload and providing guidance and accountability to team members. They must be able to fully function in all areas of the department. They are expected to provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities-CT and Xray. The technologist must be able to effectively explain the procedures to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. The technologist must produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner.

Job Description

The Multi-Modality Lead Tech reports to the manager of CT. They are responsible for assisting the CT Manager with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department.

They will be responsible for monitoring the BBEMC radiology staff, prioritizing patient workload and providing guidance and accountability to team members. They must be able to fully function in all areas of the department. They are expected to provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities-CT and Xray. The technologist must be able to effectively explain the procedures to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. The technologist must produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner.

They must be a graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and have one year of radiologic experience. They must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), CT and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association. They must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision, able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment, and be familiar with age specific criteria. They should have one year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist as well as CT. Certification is required in CT. Must be CPR certified.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology

Work Experience: 1 year of Radiologic experience Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA), and must obtain Advanced Modality registration within 1 year of hire date. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

Ability to reach in all directions. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted. Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. Good peripheral vision capabilities. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
