The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Forest Ranger (Wildland Firefighter). This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a clean criminal record, and a valid driver's license. The candidate must also pass a series of tests including a drug test, medical examination, and physical fitness test. Additional requirements include obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement within six months of appointment and completing a firefighter training program approved by the Division.

Job duties include forest fire prevention, detection, suppression and presuppression, providing technical forestry services, assisting with state lands management, and presenting forestry educational programs. The individual will operate and maintain various kinds of equipment in the suppression of wildfires and respond to all-risk emergency incidents as required.
