Staff Engineer

The product is a large-scale, three-sided marketplace connecting expert practitioners, engaged users, and enterprise partners through high-quality, user-generated content. This is a rare opportunity to join as a foundational senior engineering hire, working directly with a newly appointed CTO to shape the next phase of the platform’s evolution. You’ll be building systems from the ground up, leveraging modern AI capabilities, and owning critical technical decisions from day one. This is a deeply hands-on role where you’ll design architecture, write production code, and bring new ideas to life. Initially focused on building and validating new initiatives, the role will evolve into scaling and collaborating closely with a distributed engineering team as systems mature. You’ll partner cross-functionally with product, data, and commercial teams to deliver high-impact solutions. What You’ll Own End-to-end system design and implementation, from concept to production Agentic AI workflows and orchestration systems built on internal datasets Data-driven systems to better understand user behavior and power commercial insights Growth and marketing technology, including personalization and engagement tooling Scalable backend services and modern frontend experiences Technical direction and best practices in a fast-moving environment Close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and distributed teams What We’re Looking For Must-Haves: Strong backend experience with Python (Django preferred) Frontend experience using React Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar databases Experience working with or integrating AI/ML systems (e.g. LLM APIs) Proven ability to design and build systems from scratch Deep problem-solving ability and strong technical communication skills A highly hands-on, builder mindset Typically 10+ years of experience , including meaningful tenure in previous roles Nice-to-Haves Experience with large-scale knowledge or content systems Familiarity with agent-based AI or workflow automation frameworks Exposure to complex or regulated data environments Background in growth engineering or marketing technology The Stack #J-18808-Ljbffr
