Maintenance Worker II

Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across one or more skilled trade areas, including carpentry, painting, flooring, drywall, and general maintenance. Please note: There are two vacancies available for this position.

High School diploma or GED equivalent or 3 to 5 years of experience in performing general maintenance duties or trade school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform assigned day-to-day repairs and emergency maintenance. Assist with the upkeep of grounds and buildings. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems. Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures, and replacing bulbs and lamps. Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems. Work independently or as a team member. Conduct minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment. Perform preventative maintenance procedures on buildings and equipment. Set up rooms for activities or classes by moving tables, moving chairs, and setting up projectors and screens to support daily activities and special events in residential areas. Respond to emergencies during scheduled work hours and after hours, including weekends, as needed. Work after-hours, weekends, and on-call duties as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must possess at the time of hire and maintain a valid Texas Driver's license and an acceptable driving record. May be required to report to on-site work location during campus closure. May be required to report to on-site work location during inclement weather.
