Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Assistant (RA) should have experience working in a clinical setting. Our research is focused on clinical studies in the field of vascular disease. The RA will be responsible for overseeing and helping coordinate clinical studies within the division of vascular surgery. Experience with data collection, statistical analysis, IRB approval, and grant application will be beneficial. The RA will participate in regular divisional research meetings that review the progress of ongoing research projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field plus one (1) year of laboratory and animal research experience including breeding and genotyping, required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must know Biochemistry, Molecular and Cancer Biology, and tissue culture and microscopy skills.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to independently design and successfully carry out experiments in a laboratory setting.
• Must record data and report clearly on the study's findings.
• Willingness to perform animal studies is required.

Responsibilities:

• Designs and plans experiments.
• Participates in experimental transplantation, post-operative care, and analysis.
• Organizes and maintains the lab.
• Writes publications and protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
