Location Avera Behavioral Health Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota Position Highlights *This position may be eligible for a $18,000 sign on bonus with a 3-year commitment* What is The Link? The Link is a community triage center located in Sioux Falls that assists individuals experiencing a non-violent behavioral health crisis, seeking treatment for substance abuse disorders, or searching for support services. It meets critical needs and links patients to appropriate mental health and substance abuse services. Unit Highlights 20 staff members Dynamic, multidisciplinary team including Physicians, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Paramedics, Triage Techs, Social Workers, and Behavioral Health Techs Self‑scheduling program Student Loan Repayment Program: up to $10,000 monthly additional payment of $167 to accelerate loan payoff Shift Rotating days, evenings, nights, and weekends (U.S.) Pay Range $32.50 – $48.50 per hour, depending on experience Responsibilities Review physician prescriptions and communicate the nursing care plan to the health care team Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends Obtain medical histories, examine patients, and document physical and psychological status Develop nursing diagnoses, establish care objectives, and define interventions, schedules, and timetables Teach patient and family members about care goals and self‑care skills; answer questions and provide resources Evaluate patient care by measuring outcomes against standards, reviewing records, and adjusting plans as needed Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations Document patient care services in charts and department records Keep patient care equipment operating and maintain supplies through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ordering Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership Essential Qualifications Must be able to work required hours and perform essential job functions satisfactorily, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication Reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities Required Education, License/Certification Registered Nurse (RN) with active Board of Nursing license upon hire Preferred Experience 1–3 years working in a clinical environment Expectations and Standards Commit to Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles daily Promote values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship Uphold CARE standards (Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, Engagement) Maintain confidentiality Work effectively in team environments, coordinating workflow with other team members Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (CMS, Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA) Benefits PTO available day1 for eligible hires Up to 5% employer matching contribution for retirement Career development guided by hands‑on training and mentorship Equal Opportunity Employer Avera is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
