About the Position

Job Title: CST/ORT Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 06:00 - 16:30 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: CST Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Extensive CVOR experience Description: Certification is mandatory. Extensive CVOR experience is required. Candidate must have completed 2 travel assignments. No exceptions will be made. Responsibilities include performing surgical scrub duties. Candidate should have experience in CABG, Valve Replacement, and other cardiac procedures. Knowledge of Stryker equipment and Cerner documentation system is preferred. Procedures performed include VAD Insertions, TAVR, VATS, and others. Advanced skills needed: First Assist experience preferred. Patient ratios require 1 scrub and 1 circulator for all cases. Pump cases require a first assist/Heart Holder, who can be an RN or CST. On-call shifts will be assigned and rotated among staff. Floating may occur if needed but is infrequent. Candidate must adhere to hospital surgical attire policy. No training facilities available; cases are very efficient. Awards and recognition include a 3-star rating for excellent surgical outcomes.
