Welder / Fabricator
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Pay Rate: Based on Experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

• Monday – Friday: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Alternating Saturdays: 6:30 AM – 12:00 PM

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join a leading metal recycling and processing company in Fort Lauderdale. This position is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on trailers, containers, and heavy equipment components while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and DOT requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, Stick, and Torch welding on a variety of metals.
• Repair and fabricate trailer bodies, containers, and structural components.
• Complete repairs to floors, sidewalls, doors, landing gear, frames, and related equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify welding or fabrication repairs needed.
• Read and follow repair specifications and work orders.
• Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with preventative maintenance as needed.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and DOT guidelines.
• Work effectively with maintenance personnel and shop staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of welding and fabrication experience .
• Experience with MIG, Stick, and Torch welding required.
• Experience repairing trailers, containers, or heavy equipment is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of welding equipment, fabrication tools, and metalworking techniques.
• Ability to safely work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and various physical positions.
• Must be able to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must successfully pass a drug screening.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
