Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Intermodal Equipment TechnicianPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on intermodal heavy equipment in a fast-paced outdoor environment.Responsibilities include:Reading electrical and hydraulic schematicsRepairing and maintaining heavy equipmentTroubleshooting and repairing systems and components, as requiredMaintaining accurate records, as requiredPerforming detailed equipment inspections and preventative maintenance following OEM specificationsResponding to any customer related equipment requestsEnsuring compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuriesAssisting in delivering required training to ensure that all co-workers have the necessary skills to perform their jobs properly and safelyCommunicating consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals and adhering to all company-wide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability (internal & external)Special projects or work as assignedBeing willing to be cross-trained and assist in other departments, as requiredWhat you'll need:Required:High school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)5+ years of experience in demonstrating troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, etc.Mechanical aptitudeBasic computer skillsPossess your own basic toolsAbility to read electrical and hydraulic schematicsAbility/Comfortable in working at elevated heightsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility/Willing to work outside in all weather conditionsAbility to work in the presence of loud machineryWillingness to work after hour call outs.Basic knowledge of SPC fundamentals.Ability to understand and follow all company and Railroad safety policies.Ability to recognize all colors in a normal spectrumPreferred:Strong troubleshooting abilitiesLocation:This role is based out of Haslet, TXThis role requires employees to be on-site during shift hours.Who is REMPREX and why are we hiring?Headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, REMPREX specializes in the operation, support and engineering of intermodal terminals and ports nationwide.
