Assignment Details

Guaranteed hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 8-hr shift per 2 weeks); Orientation: 40 hours

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• References: 2 references covering 1 year (within last 3 years)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Clinical skills: Perioperative skills including general OR procedures, laparoscopic and open abdominal cases, orthopedics/spine, thoracic, urology, blood product administration, wound management, sterile technique, universal protocol (time-out), pre-op/PACU
• Charting/EHR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room environment
• Assist with surgical procedures and maintain sterile conditions
• Monitor patient status and respond to changing conditions
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety
• Administer medication and blood products as necessary
• Promote infection control protocols

Compliance / Notes

On-call required during weekends; must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays; parking details will be provided; no floating within the facility scope but may be expected to float to nearby sister facilities; must submit permanent address showing at least 50 miles distance from the facility.
