Summary/Objective

The Special Procedures RN oversees Imaging staff, ensuring efficient and effective patient care is provided to a wide variety of patients with diverse needs and whose information may be limited. Responsible for assessment, planning and care of patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures.

3. Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests as appropriate to position. Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and offers assistance without being asked.
4. Possess basic knowledge of sterile techniques as it relates to the provision of CT assisted biopsies, fluoro guided procedures and other interventions within the scope of an RN
5. Places PICC lines, midlines, peripheral IVs with or without ultrasound guidance; for those patient who meet criteria. Obtains and maintains the education and competency as appropriate for the insertion and care of these lines.
6. Participates in the clinical oversight of student trainees.

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

1 - 3 years related experience

Required License/Certifications

Current RN license in the state of Texas, BLS certification, ACLS certification, Competency in moderate sedation
