About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Care Duration: Flexible Shift: 4x9s (36 hours/week) plus call Hours per Shift: Various start times between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM Experience: One year of experience in Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse License: Active Registered Nurse licensure in Client Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - One year of experience serving in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse - Active Client RN licensure - BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Direct patient care is provided, and patient progress is evaluated. Coordination of care delivery throughout the patient's episode is essential. The Registered Nurse develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions. Care is provided to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with various medical conditions. Accountability for patient and family education is expected to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization. The Registered Nurse promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment. Nursing knowledge and skills are applied in the delivery of care. Patient and family needs are assessed through active listening and social perceptiveness. A developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of care is created. Goals are set collaboratively with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members. The plan is adjusted based on patient response and changes in condition. Advocating for and protecting the health, safety, and rights of the patient is essential. Mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members are encouraged to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Teaching and delegating tasks consistent with individual education and training are required. Compliance with infection prevention strategies is necessary to safeguard public safety. Patient and family motivation is essential for continued care and healing at home. Teaching sessions are structured to maximize understanding tailored to learning styles. Documentation of education provided and patient/family response is mandatory. Quality and effectiveness of nursing practice are systematically evaluated. Self-evaluation of practice is engaged, identifying strengths and areas for professional development. Accountability for increasing knowledge and enhancing skills is taken seriously. Logic and reasoning are used to evaluate alternative solutions to problems. Nursing practice emphasizes meaningful connections with patients and families. Trusting and caring relationships are developed by being present, listening, and engaging. Acknowledgment that patients and families are the central focus of care is essential. Creating a healing environment is a key element of professional nursing practice. Skill in medication administration and application of interventions is demonstrated.
