Position Summary:

This position will provide analytical support to the credit administration department and lending staff. Failure to adequately perform job duties could result in loan losses to the Bank.

Underwriting will be performed on all consumer-related credits excluding secondary market mortgage loans, and all small business credits

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct all lending analysis activities within the bank’s established loan policies. All credit activities will be conducted to provide the desired level of profits to the bank at a minimum risk.

  • Analyze financial and related data to determine the credit worthiness of applicants and the merits of specific loan requests.

  • Prepare complete loan approval packages including, but not limited to, financial spreads, cash flow workbooks, risk grade and narrative related to interpretation based on analysis. Submit packages to Credit Administrator and Loan Officer for consideration.

  • Perform annual reviews for relationships < $500M that are risk grade 5 or worse.

  • Adhere to established bank policies and procedures.

  • Assess credit quality and assignment of risk grades.

  • Identify watch list or problem loans.

  • Assess and identify emerging trends.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Supervision – None

Indirect Supervision – None

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Bank’s Online Credit Manual and corresponding workbooks.

  • Perform various other duties as may be assigned or delegated.

Education and Experience:

Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Accounting Certificate or prior experience in accounting

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study

Personal Characteristics:

  • Above average analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to maintain strictest level of confidentiality
  • Ability to complete tasks independently within allocated time period
  • A strong work ethic, self-motivated, a positive attitude, highly organized, and detail oriented

Position is on-site

Non-exempt - eligible for overtime

Salary commensurate with experience

EOE - Veteran/Disability

Normal office hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Occasional overtime may be necessary
