ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and maintain histological stains and dilutions in compliance with laboratory protocols. Process and embed tissue specimens precisely for microscopic examination. Prepare and section formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue specimens for histological evaluation. Perform routine and special staining techniques to enhance cellular structures. Maintain quality control procedures to ensure optimal slide preparation. Manage the labeling, filing, and storage of histological slides to maintain an organized laboratory environment. Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and troubleshooting technical issues. Document all laboratory data accurately and consistently to meet quality assurance standards. Participate in training and mentoring new staff members or students as necessary. Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards as outlined by CLIA and OSHA. Perform other related duties as required by the laboratory supervisor. Uphold high ethical standards consistent with the company’s mission and values.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or a related field. Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) preferred. Previous experience in a histology laboratory setting preferred. Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
