Android Software Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in Software Engineering, along with 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
• We want proven experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools in the work environment, with the ability to assess, verify, and refine AI-generated code or documentation for accuracy, performance, and security.
• We value understanding of responsible AI practices in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, and resilient, secure usage standards.
• We need combined software and application development experience, with a strong emphasis on mobile development.
• We look for experience providing technical leadership and mentoring diverse teams building native mobile applications.
• We require strong Android development expertise, including building mobile apps with Kotlin.
• We expect working knowledge of common architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and MVC.
• We value experience with modern native mobile tools and frameworks such as Git, Xcode, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, CoreData, Android Studio, Robolectric, Mockito, Espresso, RxJava, Dagger, and Retrofit.
• We look for experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• We expect experience working in Agile environments, including daily scrums and iteration planning and reviews.
• We want a solid understanding of Agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We value demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• Preferred: familiarity with mobile performance optimization, device-based testing, and common mobile platform constraints.
• Preferred: working knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, and Python.
• Preferred: experience with Git source control management.
• Preferred: experience consuming and integrating RESTful web services in mobile applications.
• Preferred: strong communication skills and the ability to clarify requirements with business partners and through technical documentation.

• We design, build, and troubleshoot software solutions, approaching technical problems creatively rather than relying only on routine methods.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex work, while validating results through peer review, automated tests, and secure coding practices.
• We apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including enterprise-approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation.
• We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with the appropriate systems.
• We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are reflected in the code we deliver.
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large and varied data sets to support ongoing improvement of our software applications and systems.
• We proactively identify hidden issues and trends in data, using those insights to strengthen code quality and system architecture.
• We contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events focused on emerging technologies.
