Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to take ownership of the company’s accounting operations, monthly close, financial reporting, cash management, and accounting systems. This individual will oversee both sets of books, manage a small domestic and remote accounting team, work closely with the CPA, and ensure accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial processes. The ideal candidate is a strong accounting leader who can think strategically, improve processes, build controls, and serve as the primary owner of the accounting system and AI-supported accounting workflows . Key Responsibilities Own both sets of books and the complete monthly close process. Prepare and review monthly P&Ls, balance sheets, financial reports, and supporting schedules. Review bank and credit-card reconciliations and transaction coding for accuracy. Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, vendor payables, invoices, and expense approvals. Manage ACH, wire transfers, bank transfers, deposits, and daily banking transactions. Oversee cash management, cash-flow projections, and funding levels. Manage intercompany transactions, due-to/due-from accounts, and shared-service allocations. Prepare journal entries, maintain ledgers, and reconcile and analyze funding sources. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Manage vendor relationships and evaluate vendor costs versus ROI. Review contracts, manage updates, and support client onboarding requirements. Build and improve accounting processes, internal controls, SOPs, and accountability measures. Oversee procurement and inventory tracking. Monitor company risk, compliance, and financial controls. Manage EFS processes and expense reporting. Work directly with the CPA on higher-level accounting and tax matters. Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested financial information. Lead and manage a small team of domestic and remote accounting staff. Partner with other departments to verify revenue sources and ensure financial accuracy. Become the human owner of the accounting system , including oversight and integration of AI-supported accounting workflows. Identify problems, develop solutions, and implement improvements across the accounting function. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications Thorough knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) . Strong accounting, numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience with complex reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, and cash management. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Strong leadership skills with a strategic, big-picture approach. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage a high volume of requests and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement effective processes. Experience with online accounting systems and financial services. Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 1 year of professional accounting experience; or Three or more years of professional accounting experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating comparable knowledge and abilities. Preferred Qualifications Advanced QuickBooks Online experience. Experience overseeing multiple sets of books. Experience managing a full monthly close process. Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow analysis. Experience working directly with a CPA. Experience developing accounting controls, SOPs, and process improvements.
