Senior Full Stack Engineer

Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and develop scalable, industry-leading external-facing API solutions and data aggregation capabilities. The role focuses on integrating retail, clearing, and custody capabilities to support financial goal planning, investment advice, and financial projections for external fintech partners. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of development experience, strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, event-driven architecture, API security, cloud-enabled applications, and modern DevOps practices. The candidate should also demonstrate strong software design skills, technical leadership, and the ability to deliver scalable, resilient, and extensible solutions in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive the design and development of scalable web and middle-tier applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and event-driven architecture.
• Design and develop external-facing APIs and data solutions that integrate multiple financial services capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining applications in AWS.
• Execute multiple development workstreams while ensuring application design and architecture are scalable, resilient, and extensible.
• Develop solutions that improve developer efficiency and share knowledge of new techniques, technologies, and engineering practices.
• Ensure technology decisions and implementations align with established architecture standards and strategies.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks based on flexibility, long-term viability, and time to market.
• Analyze and recommend improvements to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies.
• Continuously assess application design and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Define boundaries and relationships between technical architecture and application layers.
• Develop new design concepts and processes to improve the quality of technical design and development.
• Collaborate with peers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.
• Work across multiple teams and squads to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.
• Translate business logic into technical requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
• Promote innovation by identifying creative approaches to complex business problems and sharing external knowledge and expertise.
• Apply data-driven decision-making when evaluating technical options and making strategic trade-offs.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote strong software engineering practices.
• Support the development of user-friendly, internet-facing web applications that address business and customer needs.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• Expertise in building scalable web and middle-tier applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and event-driven architecture.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with API authentication, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and SAML/OIDC.
• Strong foundation in software design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong experience with web services and data formats, including JSON, XML, REST, and SOAP.
• Experience building cloud-enabled applications using 12-factor application design principles.
• Experience with Docker containerization and AWS cloud deployment and application management.
• Experience with unit testing and test automation libraries and strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins.
• Experience delivering software in Agile environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution, and planning.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing applications in brokerage and financial services.
• Working knowledge of design systems.
• Knowledge of web security attack methods and defensive measures.
