Administrator II Position, Medical Equipment & Supply Technician

This is a new Administrator II position, Medical Equipment & Supply Technician, that is being established to support medical equipment and supply operations throughout the hospital. The position will assist the Central Medical Supply, Sterile Processing, and Material Handling operations by supporting administrative functions related to durable medical equipment tracking, repair scheduling, service documentation, and regulatory compliance. The position also provides basic equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs within the position's training and ability and coordinates preventive maintenance, calibration, and specialized repairs with qualified vendors as needed. This role will collaborate with the Central Medical Supply Technician and report to the Medical Services Department to ensure operational support across equipment and supply workflows.

Other duties are as follows:

• Oversight of all Durable Medical Equipment
• Medical Equipment Electrical Safety Checks/Weight Scale Service Coordination and Calibration Tracking
• Furniture and Upholstery Inspection & Repair Needs
• Medical Supply Management and Material Handling
• Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Experience Only:

• Five (5) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned as an Equipment Technician

OR

• A combination of related education in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Healthcare Technology and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned, equal to five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with medical equipment, healthcare equipment, durable medical equipment, or other equipment used in a healthcare or institutional setting
• Experience with equipment inspection, operation, troubleshooting, basic repairs, adjustments, or maintenance support
• Experience with equipment, asset, or inventory tracking and documentation
• Experience with medical supply inventory, supply operations, or healthcare supply support
• Experience coordinating equipment service, maintenance, work orders, inspections, or vendors
• Experience using computerized databases, electronic tracking systems, spreadsheets, or similar systems to track equipment, inventory, service, or maintenance activities
• Experience providing technical, facilities/equipment, or other hands-on operational support involving equipment
• Experience working in a healthcare, hospital, clinical, institutional, or similar regulated environment
• Willingness and ability to provide backup support for Central Medical Supply and other Medical Services areas as needed
• Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent biomedical equipment certification is preferred, but not required
• Working knowledge of medical equipment regulatory compliance (e.g., The Joint Commission, FDA, NFPA, CDPHE, manufacturer guidelines) and ability to track and coordinate required inspections, preventive maintenance, calibration, and service activities to support compliance schedules
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams and technical information related to assigned equipment
• Customer service skills with the ability to work directly with clinical staff to resolve equipment concerns
• Time management skills to balance equipment service, inspection, tracking, and maintenance coordination with urgent equipment needs.
• Flexibility and adaptability to provide backup support for Central Medical Supply operations and other Medical Services areas as needed

Conditions of Employment:

• Former State employees who were disciplined or resigned in lieu of termination must:

• Due to the population served, the incumbent must be 21+ years of age.
• Motor Vehicle Check:
• Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License or an non-restricted U.S. Driver's License for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border
• Out-of-State Driver's License holders must obtain a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License within 30 days of employment start date.

CDHS Selection Process Explanation:

• Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications.
