This role will provide strategic legal advice and day-to-day counseling to Human Resources, business leaders, and other internal stakeholders on a broad range of employment law issues affecting a nationwide staffing and talent solutions organization. The successful candidate will combine strong legal judgment with practical business acumen and a collaborative approach to solving complex workplace issues.

What You'll Do

  • Provide legal guidance regarding harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, disability accommodation, leave of absence, and workplace investigations.
  • Counsel business leaders and Human Resources on wage and hour compliance, including employee classification, overtime, meal and rest periods, pay practices, and related compliance issues.
  • Advise on restrictive covenant matters, including noncompetition, nonsolicitation, confidentiality, and trade secret issues, while navigating varying state laws.
  • Support litigation strategy by partnering with outside counsel on employment claims, agency charges, class and representative actions, and other employment-related disputes.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and training materials.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and provide practical guidance to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Deliver legal training to Human Resources and business leaders on employment law developments and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop legally compliant business solutions that align with operational objectives.

What You'll Need

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Significant experience practicing employment law, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on:
    • Harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower matters;
    • Wage and hour compliance and litigation, including state-specific employment laws;
    • Restrictive covenants, including noncompetition, nonsolicitation, confidentiality, and trade secret issues;
    • Employment policies, investigations, and workplace accommodations.
  • Experience supporting or advising staffing, contingent workforce, or multi-state employers is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Experience managing outside counsel and employment litigation is preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience advising staffing companies, temporary services employers, or organizations with a multi-state workforce is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the unique employment law issues affecting the staffing industry - including joint employment, contingent workforce arrangements, and multi-jurisdictional compliance - is a significant advantage.

What We're Looking For

  • The ideal candidate is a trusted legal advisor who exercises sound judgment, communicates effectively with business leaders, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This individual will be comfortable balancing legal risk with business objectives while helping the Company maintain a strong culture of compliance and ethical business practices.
