A variety of material is cataloged by the Division, including books, rare books, manuscripts, electronic resources, microforms and musical scores. The cataloging is done in an electronic environment. The work of the Division affects the development of Library programs and the standards and principles used by librarians in government, public, and academic libraries throughout the United Staes.
