The Senior Portfolio Manager, Money Market Strategies is responsible for portfolio management, trading, liquidity oversight, risk management, and strategy execution across SAM Money Market Funds, the Ultra-Short ETF, and private liquidity vehicles. The role combines direct accountability for day-to-day investment decisions with broader leadership in portfolio construction, market analysis, regulatory adherence, process improvement, and team development.

As part of the SAM Money Fund Strategies Portfolio Management team, this individual will help translate investment strategy into portfolio actions that balance principal stability, liquidity, and yield, aligned with approved risk parameters. The Senior Portfolio Manager will also serve as a subject-matter expert and partner across investment risk, legal, compliance, operations, technology, product, finance, counterparties, and vendors.

Success requires strong investment judgment, deep knowledge of short-term markets, independent leadership, and clear communication. The role provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, or project leadership to portfolio managers, associate portfolio managers, analysts, and trading partners.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and oversee SAM Money Market Funds, the Ultra-Short ETF, and private liquidity vehicles in an actively managed, fast-paced environment.
• Develop and implement portfolio strategy, including liquidity positioning, maturity structure, sector allocation, security selection, and trade execution.
• Make investment decisions that balance principal stability, liquidity, yield, regulatory requirements, shareholder interests, and risk.
• Monitor markets, cash flows, exposures, stress tests, liquidity, and performance; identify emerging risks and recommend portfolio actions.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, engage counterparties, and execute transactions consistent with best-execution, allocation, compliance, and documentation standards.
• Apply regulatory and fiduciary requirements, including SEC Rule 2a-7 and internal risk frameworks.
• Serve as a senior investment resource for portfolio reviews, risk discussions, governance forums, and leadership presentations.
• Lead enhancements to investment processes, controls, data, reporting, automation, and operating scalability.
• Partner across credit research, risk, legal, compliance, operations, technology, product, finance, and distribution to resolve issues and support strong client outcomes.
• Prepare market commentary, portfolio analytics, presentations, and committee materials; communicate complex topics clearly.
• Coach less-experienced investment professionals and represent the team with internal and external stakeholders.

What you have

Required Experience & Key Skills:

• 8+ years of investment, portfolio management, trading, credit research, or related capital markets experience, including experience in money markets, short-duration fixed income, or liquidity management.
• Demonstrated experience managing or co-managing portfolios and executing trades with increasing independence.
• Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, liquidity management, security analysis, market structure, risk, performance drivers, and best execution.
• Working knowledge of SEC Rule 2a-7 and related liquidity, maturity, credit quality, stress-testing, compliance, and fiduciary requirements.
• Sound judgment across changing market environments and the ability to act decisively within established risk frameworks.
• Strong quantitative and technical aptitude, including portfolio analytics, workflow improvement, and automation.
• Ability to lead initiatives, influence across functions, and communicate effectively with senior leaders, committees, and business partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative leadership style.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• MBA, relevant master’s degree, and/or CFA designation preferred.
• Experience with institutional investment systems, portfolio analytics, electronic trading platforms, data tools, or process automation preferred.
• Experience presenting portfolio strategy, risk, performance, or market analysis to senior stakeholders or governance forums preferred.
