Patient Registrar I – Overview Location: 4005 High Resort Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124-5906 Compensation: $16.36–$22.29 per hour. Full‑time, non‑exempt, weekday schedule (Monday‑Friday). Job Summary Coordinates the encounter or episode process for patients and consumers by performing activities related to patient registration; accuracy of data capture to reduce denials is paramount. Secures financial payment at time of service, interprets insurance contracts and uses tools to address provider queries, explains required signatures, and manages the patient registration process. Responsibilities Address and resolve complaints in the moment using key words at key times, managing conflict and seeking supervisor help when needed. Monitor and maintain lobby waiting area cleanliness, provide comfort cart rounding to patients and families. Keep patients informed of delays. Perform the patient registration process, including accurate collection of patient data and guided dialogue about e‑signature documents. Answer questions regarding hospital operations, policies, and procedures including provider based billing, demographic data, and insurance critical elements. Investigate insurance eligibility via electronic tools; collect identified patient financial obligation amounts including residual balance if applicable. Refer patients appropriately to on‑site Financial Advocate or to the Financial Advocacy Center for uninsured patients. Follow PMG cash handling policies and balance daily account statements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of nine (9) months of experience in an office, healthcare or customer service environment. Must pass EPIC competency for Registration after completing Epic Clerical Training class. Pass annual competency exam for all areas of responsibility. Professional Requirements Attend quarterly MSO meetings. Attend staff meetings.
