Senior Automation Engineer

Senior Automation Engineer at AstraZeneca in Coppell, Texas, responsible for developing and maintaining industrial control systems (PLC/SCADA/HMI) in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Responsibilities
- Coordinate development, implementation, and support of site SCADA and PLC automation systems including HMI and MES interfaces
- Review and approve technical specifications, drawings, and control system code
- Lead root cause analysis, problem-solving, and corrective actions for system issues
- Develop and maintain validation protocols and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate third-party suppliers during system development, installation, and qualification activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Four years experience with industrial automation systems in manufacturing or pharmaceutical process/quality engineering
- Ability to troubleshoot and interpret control logic, batch sequences, or PLC programs
- Knowledge of process and utility development, operation, and maintenance
- Detailed understanding of GMP requirements for facility development and operation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
