IDD Behavior Specialist – Statesville We are hiring for a Regular IDD Behavior Specialist at RHA Health Services. This person will be a positive and personable individual who can make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges. Responsibilities In‑services, monitor, and implement behavior programs and behavioral support systems. Collect and record data for summarization by the psychologist and for monthly progress reviews. Perform duties as directed and under supervision. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required; one year of experience with the population served is preferred. Graduate degrees in related areas preferred. Physical Requirements Regularly lift 20 lbs.; must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.; pull a minimum of 25 lbs.; squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stop. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand and walk regularly. Demonstrate proficiency in CPR, including floor‑level services. Maintain close, distance, and peripheral vision; be able to talk and hear. Pre‑Employment Screening Criminal background check (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities). Drug testing. Education verification and other credentialing as required. Proof of employment history or references if required.
