Description:
Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the health system.
Driver's license is required for submission and will be used to determine if candidates are outside the specified radius.
Must have a minimum of 3's in all areas to submit, including ortho, neuro, GYN, eyes, ENT, robotics, etc.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract.
Common cases include general surgeries such as bowel procedures, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, gastrectomies, and hernias.
Laparoscopic procedures include cholecystectomies, appendectomies, hysterectomies, hernias, colon surgeries, and PEG placements.
Gynecological surgeries include C-sections, hysterectomies, laser procedures, salpingo-oophorectomies, and tubal ligations.
Urological and cystoscopic procedures include circumcisions, cystoscopies, hypospadias corrections, lithotripsies, nephrectomies, orchiectomies, prostate procedures, and TURP/TURB.
Orthopedic surgeries include scopes, external fixation, closed reductions, total knees, hips, and open reductions for various fractures.
Neurosurgical procedures include ACDF, burr hole surgeries, cranial procedures, tumor resections, laminectomies, shunt placements, and external ventricular drains.
Plastics includes trauma plastic surgeries for mandible/maxilla, facial fractures, skin grafts, and flaps.
Eye procedures involve enucleations, vitrectomies, and globe ruptures, with a focus on traumatic injuries.
Ear, nose, and throat procedures include ethmoidectomies, sinus surgeries, laryngectomies, tonsil/adenoid removals, myringotomies, mastoidectomies, tympanoplasties, stapedectomies, and nasal polypectomies.
Thoracic surgeries include hiatal hernias, lobectomies, and thoracotomies.
Endoscopic procedures include bronchoscopies, EGDs, and colonoscopies.
Will see pediatrics in emergency situations.
Experience with the Da Vinci Robot, Stealth technology, O-arm, and holmium lasers is required.
Shifts may vary between 8 and 12 hours, typically scheduled from 0630 to 1500 or 0630 to 1900.
Call requirements consist of 1-4 hour call after a shift each week and weekend call approximately every 5 weeks.
Floating outside of the OR is not permitted.
Green scrubs are provided as part of the uniform.
Candidates must submit requests for time off upfront, with a maximum of 7 days for a 13-week contract.
Additional requests for time off will not be approved.
The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using EPIC.
A BSN is not required.
This is an acute care setting.
The position is within the allied division.
