Medical Front Desk Receptionist

Job Description
Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do
- Greet and check in patients, collect demographics, and scan IDs and insurance cards
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments for multiple providers
- Answer multi-line phones, route calls, and take accurate messages
- Collect copays and balances, and reconcile daily payments
- Assist with authorizations, referrals, and medical records requests
- Help patients complete intake paperwork and forms, including disability paperwork as needed
- Request imaging and prior records from outside offices
- Maintain a clean, welcoming front office and waiting area
- Coordinate with back office staff, medical assistants, and surgery coordinators to keep patient flow on schedule
What We're Looking For
- 1+ year of front desk experience in a medical office (specialty or surgical practice a plus)
- Working knowledge of insurance verification, including HMO, PPO, Medi-Cal, and Medicare
- Experience with EMR/practice management systems (AdvancedMD a plus)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while staying calm and professional
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willing to travel to our Glendora office as needed to provide coverage
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
