Registered Nurse In Intensive Care Unit

Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred, 3 years preferred

License: Active Registered Nurse License

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (must obtain prior to start)

Must-Have: Previous travel experience

Description: Local candidates accepted. Charting system experience required. Experience in critical care is preferred. Ability to manage multiple patients effectively. Skills in accessing/managing ports and arterial line management are necessary. Must assist with chest tube insertion/removal and BiPAP/CPAP management. Experience in blood product administration is essential. Care of ventilated patients is required. Knowledge in central line care and management is needed. Competence in managing chronic and acute renal failure is necessary. Experience with continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade is required. Ability to administer and monitor procedural sedation is essential. Experience in phlebotomy and managing dysrhythmias is necessary. Must interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Skills in starting and maintaining IVs are needed. Knowledge in infection prevention protocols is required. Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed. Ventilator management experience is a must. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team is essential. Clinical support roles include physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Experience in a community hospital setting is preferred. Availability for weekend shifts is required. Max requested time off is 7 days per contract. Compliance documents must be completed prior to the start date. Must have a comprehensive work history for the past 7 years.
