About Smith Auto Family

Smith Auto Family is a family-owned dealership group with roots going back to 1952, when Bill Smith opened our original store in Slaton after years working for Ford. Four generations later, we're still family-run with five locations across West Texas: Smith Auto Family Ford in Levelland and Plainview, Smith Auto Family Slaton (our original Heritage Store), and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center in Levelland and Plainview. This role is based at our Levelland location.

You'll tell the stories behind our people, customers, and communities across West Texas. We want someone who loves creating video, trying new ideas, experimenting with AI and emerging platforms, and isn't afraid to pick up a camera and capture compelling moments.

We aren’t looking for a reinvention, but someone who can elevate our brand. You'll have a documented brand strategy, social media framework, and leadership team that values consistency. Within those guardrails, you'll have the freedom to experiment, tell meaningful stories, and continuously improve how we connect with our customers and communities.

• Run social across all our locations — content, calendar, comments, and reviews, all of it — keeping Smith Auto Family and Quick Lane as separate, distinct brands with their own channels and voice.

• Shoot and edit short-form video, including first-person content on our Meta smart glasses.

• Plan a steady mix of content: staff and community stories, buyer education, dealership culture, and customer reviews for Smith Auto Family; maintenance reminders, service transparency, and team moments for Quick Lane.

• Keep a steady posting rhythm, and know when to change plans for something happening in the moment.

• Write original captions, scripts, and short-form copy. 

• Respond to comments and messages in line with the brand voice.

• Work with ownership and the marketing team on campaigns, messaging, and events.

• Show up at community events and sponsorships when there's content to capture.

• Track content for audience engagement and adjust accordingly.

• Coordinate occasional cross-brand posts between Smith Auto Family and Quick Lane where they genuinely intersect.

• proven ability to grow social media channels

• Outgoing, focused, and creative. Comfortable approaching people and turning everyday moments into content.

• Can shoot and edit; you're comfortable behind the camera and occasionally in front of it.

• Solid understanding of social media marketing and audience engagement: what drives reach, what builds a following, and how to read performance data to improve it.

• Basic video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, or similar).

• Self-starter, you can own a calendar across multiple locations without being managed line by line.

• Community engagement, you'll be at events, talking to people, not just posting from a desk.

• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between all five locations.

• Automotive experience

• Knowledge of the South Plains area

• Meta Business Suite / Google Business Profile experience

iPhone, Meta Glasses, Microphone, other software and equipment as needed. Documented brand strategy & social media framework.
