Role Description The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems in a variety of commercial and residential buildings. Day‑to‑day tasks include performing scheduled maintenance, responding to service calls, diagnosing system issues, and documenting work performed in accordance with NFPA 72 regulatory standards and local amendments. The technician will coordinate with dispatch and project teams, interact directly with customers at job sites, and ensure systems meet applicable codes and manufacturer specifications. The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment, following safety procedures, and participating in ongoing training to stay current with products, codes, and best practices. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong maintenance & repair skills for fire alarm and related life safety systems. Candidates should possess solid troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues with panels, devices, circuits, and system communication. Candidates should possess field service experience, including working at customer sites, managing schedules, and completing accurate service reports. Candidates should possess customer service skills to communicate clearly with building owners, property managers, and occupants and represent the company professionally. Working knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, local and state regulations) is highly beneficial. Relevant state licenses or certifications for fire alarm systems in Texas, or the ability to obtain them, are preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction plans is beneficial. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in various building environments are required.
