Practice Setting & Patient Volume

Cardiac Surgery ICU and stepdown service Census approximately 12-22 patients Approximately 12-15 primary patients with remaining volume consisting of consults Cardiac Surgeon available and rounds on patients Hospitalist coverage at night Epic EMR Sectra PACS

Clinical Expectations

Management of CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery patients Daily assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning Arrhythmia and pacemaker management Volume management, diuresis, and electrolyte management Infection surveillance and recognition of clinical deterioration Chest tube and pacing wire removal Surgical drain removal and wound care Admission, discharge, and care coordination

Requirements & Credentialing

Board certification required Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required Level I trauma experience required Active Missouri license required; willing to license Compact licensure accepted BLS and ACLS required
